LWV Luncheon with Madeleine Albright author of Hell and Other Destinations

Boswell Book Company and the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County present a special April 29 luncheon with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, celebrating Wisconsin's ratification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.
This lunch is in conjunction with the release of Albright's latest work, HELL AND OTHER DESTINATIONS: A 21ST CENTURY MEMOIR. Tickets cost $85 each and include admission, lunch, and a copy of Hell and other Destinations. 
Individual tickets offer three entrée choices for meals plus salad, red potatoes, coffee/tea service, and cookie tray. Sponsored tables also available - $800 for eight seats - reserve a table and get acknowledgment in the luncheon program. For these tickets, we will contact you about entree requests.
In 2001, when Madeleine Albright left office as America's first female secretary of state, interviewers asked her how she wished to be remembered. 'I don't want to be remembered,' she answered. 'I am still here and have much more I intend to do.' Now, one of the world's most admired and tireless public servants, Albright reflects on the final stages of one's career and working productively into your later decades in this revealing, funny, and inspiring memoir.
For this event, Albright will be in conversation with Kathleen Dunn, former host of Wisconsin Public Radio. Have a question? Fill out one of our cards before the lunch and Dunn will be able to ask many of them. Please note that all books come pre-signed. There are no signing requests, no personalizations, and no posed photos. 
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, nonprofit grassroots organization that has worked for a century to improve our government and engage all citizens in the decisions that impact their lives.
The League of Women Voters was founded by Wisconsin resident Carrie Chapman Catt in 1920, just six months before the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, following a seven-decade fight for women's suffrage. The mission, then and now, is to empower voters and defend democracy. 
From the 19th Amendment of the Constitution: The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
Join us for Madeleine Albright at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino, 1729 W Canal St, on Wednesday, April 29, noon. Parking in the garage is free; $10 fee for valet parking.
Emails of attendees will be shared with League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County. Please note the cancellation date for luncheon tickets is April 22.
